The Gato Team

I suppose some explanation of the following photos will be necessary.

See, "Gato" is the name we've given the web content management system we're using at Texas State University and a masked luchadore is the logo for the system.

Why?

Well, the university's mascot is a bobcat, and several other services are branded with names that reflect that in some way, like "Catsweb" and "Bobcatmail" and "TRACS" (Teaching, Research, And Collaboration System - the logo is a bunch of paws making "tracks"). So we turned to Spanish to give us another cat-related name.

The luchadore? That was the brainchild of a former (wacky) graphic designer, Steve Lux (STEVE!), enthusiastically adopted by our project group. (The software release and update schedule uses Japanese movie monsters for release names.)

The user-friendly CMS has been enormously successful I might add. Naturally, our group needed to pose for some pictures for our web site:
