Stress At Work. Bad for Your Health.
7 February 2008, 4:37 PM

Seems like a "well DUH" kind of thing, doesn't it? But far too many of us don't know that their physical health problems could be related to work stress. For more information, see the publication put out by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health: STRESS...At Work.

* One-fourth of employees view their jobs as the number one stressor in their lives. -Northwestern National Life
* Three-fourths of employees believe the worker has more on-the-job stress than a generation ago. -Princeton Survey Research Associates
* Problems at work are more strongly associated with health complaints than are any other life stressor-more so than even financial problems or family problems. -St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co.

Think about it. Most of us spend more time at work than we do with friends, family, hobbies, eating or sleeping. It is the biggest environmental factor in our lives, and the impact of a stressful or unhappy job situation can have enormous consequences.
